Sure, you have home banking, internet bill pay, and all that. Ho-hum. So do all the banks. But what about your really wired members - the ones who buy and sell on eBay at all hours and routinely transfer money around the globe via PayPal?

We think some bright credit union out there is going to offer an account that's optimized for online transactions. And that credit union is going to get a lot of really nice publicity and gain some fanatically loyal members.

Here's an example of just one feature that would be nice to have: why not create an easy, inexpensive way for your members to accept credit card payments? Paypal charges stiff fees, and then the member has to wait about three days for an ACH transfer into their CU account.

We dare you to take a few of your über-wired members out to lunch (don't worry, they will have PLENTY of ideas) and create accounts and services tailored to their needs. Research PayPal's many shortcomings and the pitfalls of doing a lot of business online. There are plenty of opportunities to make life easier for your members.
